REBUILD YOUR LIFE ON A SOLID FOUNDATION

COUNSELING ADULTS…

There are various reasons why adults choose to seek therapy. Whenever a situation starts to control our lives or affect our everyday functioning, it is a clear signal that a neutral perspective from someone such as a therapist is needed. The ultimate goal of counseling is to learn new and more effective ways of navigating everyday life so that we may live a more authentic and fulfilling existence; overcome obstacles that keep us from reaching our goals and becoming the person we want to be. To achieve this, individual therapy with adults involves addressing life challenges, the pain, and the decisions with which to resolve them.

I am convinced that every person has the internal strength to heal themselves with supportive guidance. My commitment to each and every one of my clients is to help them discover and harness those personal strengths. Through psychotherapy, my clients may also discover that earlier life events impact and influence their current situation. Addressing these unresolved past events allow personal strengths to surface.

Much of my therapy with adults involves ‘talk therapy’; where I incorporate a variety of skilled approaches as we focus on discussing the problems that brought you to my office and their solutions. But, with my specialty as an Art Therapist, I invite those clients who are interested to express themselves through more creative and symbolic means (art expression, sand tray, etc.). Whichever means you choose we will journey together to find the connections between thoughts, feelings, and behaviors while exploring new and healthier coping skills to face life’s challenges and stresses.

Benefits of Individual Counseling:

Greater self-knowledge and understanding.
Enhancing your relationship with yourself and others.
Having the ability to deal with stress and bounce back from adversity.
Improving your sense of choice and self-esteem.
Moving from a position of self-doubt and insecurity to being in control and empowered.
Developing the flexibility to learn new things and adapt to change.
Learning to build and maintain fulfilling relationships.
Developing a life that can be enjoyed rather than endured.
Experiencing self-confidence and high self-esteem.

As a therapist with 15 years of extensive experience and training, I know first-hand that therapy leads to mental and emotional health and wellbeing. It will allow you to participate in life to the fullest extent possible through productive, meaningful activities and strong relationships.
